Clever Ways to Pay for College?

As the cost of college continues to rise, and families are facing rather large tuition bills for students to go to school, people are looking for clever ways  to help pay for their student’s education.  So now you’re probably asking, what are some of these clever ways they’ve found?

One idea is to have students take summer college courses at a local community college.  In doing so, they will most likely save a bundle over having to pay the cost of that class at their 4 year institution.  The caveat to that is to make sure to research whether or not that course will transfer to your student’s college. If it doesn’t, it’s not helping you save money.  But if it does, and your student takes courses throughout their summer months each year, maybe he or she can graduate a semester early.  Talk about a nice way to slash their college costs!

For more ideas, read the full article.  But I’m interested in hearing from you!  Does your family have a student in college?  Have you stumbled upon a clever way to help pay for  college?  Or do you have a strategy in place for when your student does attend?  Please share your words of wisdom!
