Forums to Help You Navigate Your 1st Year of College
Are you heading off to college for the first time in a little over a month or so? Are you nervous about what to expect? Do you wish you had the resources to learn more from others? Well now you do! As you know, technology has helped people obtain information. Forums were created so that people can share ideas, advice and information.
In my online travels, I came across an article that highlights 40 different forums to help you in different aspects of college: college life, internships, study skills, time management and career planning. I perused some of the forums and cannot speak to the quality of all of them, but the ones I did view had a variety of topics, responders and were an interesting read.
If there is a specific area that you would like more information about, go check them out, post a question and see what kind of response you receive. Someone you have never met, and wouldn’t meet in any other manner may have some very helpful advice for you.
Best,
Val

Great post and from the looks of it, a great resource. This speaks to the importance of asking others about their college experience even just asking parents or siblings who have been to college. College is very exciting but can be stressful adjusting, so ask around with family or post a question on the forum and remove some of the new student angst in the process.

What a great link! As a college counselor there isn’t anything better online than forums where students can learn about an array of college topics. I enjoyed this site because it gives you some of the best like College Confidential, College Life, and The U. Hearing from students, alumni, and others helps you put together the pieces of the daunting college process. Great link Val!
