Scholarship Opportunity for Students Still in High School!

As I speak with high school students and families I am often asked if there are scholarships that students who are not yet seniors can apply for.  Here’s one.  University Language Services is asking for photo submissions illustrating what college means to you.  As you are visiting colleges this summer, bring your camera and start shooting!  When you decide which one captures everything you feel college means to you, send that along with a brief description (no longer than 200 words) of why that photo “screams” college to you.

A little bit about the rules: The contest has seven rounds.  After each round six finalists will have their pictures featured on their website for people to vote on.  The top two photos with the most votes will be named the finalists for that round.  At the end, a panel of judges will chose the winners from the finalists.  There is a $500 scholarship for first place and a $100 scholarship for second and third place.

Click here for full contest rules.

Good luck!
Val

Looks like a fun scholarship.... Here is another one for the inner writer in all of us: http://us.penguingroup.com/static/pages/services-academic/essayhome.html

It is a contest open to juniors and seniors offered from Penguin books...every year they pick a different book and request essay submissions related to this book. Good luck

Thanks for the scholarship information! It’s great to see that they have something out there that doesn’t require an essay. I’m really creative and this will be fun…
