Lauryn's Farewell Blog
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined.”- Henry David Thoreau
Hey Everyone!
So I’m down to my last few days of school as a high school senior! The next couple days consist of graduation rehearsals and a lot of award nights going on, and then the BIG day is this Saturday! I’m so excited; I never thought this day would come.
This is my last blog. It’s been over a year since I started blogging here, as a junior in high school! Not knowing what I wanted to do, where I wanted to go, just wanted school to be over. Through this past year at NHHEAF I not only learned a lot, but grew as a person. I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but no idea where I would fit in. Having the help from the people from the CCP definitely made the process much easier. First the applying, then waiting for acceptances, then scholarships, the stressful year flew by. I never thought I would see the day that I would be sitting here saying I’m going to college, studying Business/Marketing, and playing D2 lacrosse. The past 12 years of work have definitely paid off. Unfortunately you don’t appreciate it all until the end. You can look back and see what you accomplished and how it has paid off for you, and it has never felt better.
I want to thank all of you who followed me through this long stressful process all the way to the end. The encouragement and the support really helped me make it. I never felt alone or that I had to do it on my own.
I hope kids in High School can look back on my experience as something to gain from. College is possible no matter your situation; you just have to be driven and motivated to push yourself in the best direction.
Best of luck to the class of 2010! And for those of you juniors, you’re stepping up; you’re the leaders, the role models, and the class of 2011. Enjoy your senior year to come, work hard to the finish, and get your college applications done! But slow down every once in a while and have fun, the year flies by. Before you know it, you’ll be right were I am, saying “Hey, I’m going to college!”
Farewell for now,
Lauryn, Class of 2010
