Start Your College Process Early!

(written by Rising STAR, Krystal)

Hey Bloggers!

Wow, I'm glad my college process is starting to slow down! The hard part is over; I’ve received my financial aid award packages, made my decisions and applied for scholarships. Now, I'm just getting the financial piece finalized with the college I chose.

Some of my friends have not been as lucky as I have been with my college process. One of my close friends has applied to three different schools, two of which she has not heard back from yet and one that she has been denied acceptance to. She is worried about the fact that she has not been accepted to any of her schools and it’s almost the end of March.  She has applied to another college to help give her more options.  While it is best to apply earlier than March, she did meet the college’s deadline, so her application will be considered.  However, it is not an ideal situation for her.

My advice is to plan ahead, know which colleges you want to apply to in the fall, send in the applications and be sure to include a back-up option for yourself (a school that you are pretty sure that you would be accepted to if the other ones you applied to do not).

Waiting until the last minute for your college search will only add unnecessary pressure and stress on you!  Planning your college process in advance is the way to go!

See you next week!
Krystal
