One Rising STAR's New Year's Resolutions

Hey Readers! It’s Meryssa and this week I am writing a blog about a subject that I think will help all of us start 2010 off fresh at school...New Year’s resolutions!

Now you’re probably thinking how can New Year’s resolutions help me in school? Well for those of you who already write resolutions, have you ever written any for school? If you haven’t, maybe now is the time to give it a try! They are really easy to make and I know for me, I feel really great when I accomplish one.

Every year I write a bunch of New Year’s resolutions. I write a few for school, a few personal goals, and some for bigger life goals. I also write some about my relationships with my friends and family. Everyone can write a New Year’s resolution about habits you want to kick, things you want to do this year, or possibly a hobby you want to start.

For example, a goal for school could be to pass all your classes, even your toughest. Like one of my school goals this year is to pass all my classes, including my toughest, history! For me, a personal goal is anything that has to do with me bettering myself. Like for example, this year, my goal is going to be to start a journal because we all know foster care isn’t the easiest thing in the world. Journaling is a great, healthy way to relieve stress. I just never seem to be able to do it every day. For me, a life goal is a resolution that isn’t necessarily going to be achieved this year but it will in the future, so I can have the same resolution every year until it gets achieved. My life goal, and this year’s resolution, has always been to graduate high school. After I graduate high school, my life goal is to both go to and to graduate from college. My bad habit to kick this year is to stop biting my nails. This is one I have had for many years and I know I will feel great when it’s accomplished. My relationships goal is to call my biological mom everyday even if we are not getting along. This is going to be hard for me because our relationship isn’t the greatest, but it is one I would like to try to do.

Not everyone is going to have a habit to kick or every type of goal to set that I have mentioned, but that is okay.

Well I hope this blog helps get you started on thinking about New Year’s resolutions. Like I said, you can have more then one resolution or goal for each category and if you think of another category let me know by leaving a comment on this blog so you can help me out to!

If you have any ideas on what my next blog should be about leave me a comment I’ll be glad to help you.

Smiles-
Meryssa

but biting your nails is so convenient, if you don't bite them then you will have to make sure you have nail clippers available, but if you bite them, you can do it anywhere at anytime, no tools required remember that..haha
