Lauryn Searches for Money

Hey Everyone! So last week I talked about the college essay, keeping on track, and getting them done and sent out as soon as you can. My essays are coming along, but if you are like me, you are still trying to figure out how to balance everything in your busy schedules to get your applications in on-time. It’s tough, but we have to do it.

However, your preparing for college doesn’t end with the application itself. If you don’t plan on paying your college tuition all on your own, you’re going to need to apply for scholarships. A good place to start is to ask your parents or relatives to see if any of their employers support student scholarships. I’m lucky. My dad’s employer has a scholarship available for as long as I am in school, and my grandmother’s former employer has a scholarship I am eligible for as well. Look for scholarships and read the requirements.  Some you may be eligible for, and some might not be the right fit for you.

And remember, after you have tapped out your family for scholarships, try your own employer – or groups like your own school’s Booster Club. And once you have checked these places, check out these great local scholarship resources:
