The New England Job Show
Back in late August I served as one of the presenters at the second state wide job fair held at the NH Motor speedway in Loudon, NH. While at the event, I spent some time visiting the employer booths and met some folks from an organization called the New England Job Show. The New England Job Show is an innovative grassroots project engaged in supporting and helping job seekers succeed in their job search. Based out of Chelmsford, MA, they produce and disseminate educational information (including videos and articles) and services to help unemployed individuals in the New England Region. A service they provide is video taping job seekers delivering their elevator speeches in support of their self-promotion efforts.
Personally, I’ve contributed a number of articles to the New England Job Show. In addition, I was video taped while at the Project Economy Job Fair and that video interview is posted at their site. To watch me, go to http://nejs.org/category/shows and scroll down to the October 2nd segment. My interview comes in the second half of that segment…you can tell it’s me by looking for a woman with dark brown short hair seated to the right of the blonde interviewer…I’m wearing a salmon colored sweater set and holding a rubber chicken (can’t miss me!). Links to all articles are posted to the right of their website. I have a few articles that might be of interest posted here http://nejs.org/category/education/career-assessment-and-transition. Scroll down the page of this link and you’ll find two of my articles. Along with what I’ve submitted there are many other great articles that can support you and those you know with a search for employment or a career transition.
The New England Job Show is always interested in volunteers to help in various areas from production and editing to marketing and fund raising. If you are interested, you can contact the job show at info@nejs.org.
Until next time…
